little Lucy striking a pose….
my fabulous friend Katie told me about a easy and fast meal she has been making for breakfast that is power packed with nutrients and sooo amazingly good for you. she calls it a RAWSOME, so on saturday morning as i stuffed spinach, carrots and apple etc into my mini food processor, ryan gave me a horrible look asking, “what are you doing?” i replied, “making my breakfast” he gave me a big head shake saying “THAT is not breakfast!” he made his bowl of cereal and as i pulsed my mixture and poured it into a bowl i made him try a bite. he nodded that and said “hey, that’s actually kind of good” i thought this was a great response given the utter disgust look from before. he left the room – 10 min later he came back in and asked if i could make some more – he wanted a bowl!!!!!!!! you can try so many different combos. just TRY it and i think you will like it!!!
RAWSOME (version 1)
1 smallish handful of spinach
1/2 of a honey crisp apple (cubed)
3-4 pieces of canned pineapple chunks (the canned is a bit sweeter and makes it better to me)
6-8 almonds (raw)
smallish handful of carrots
a pinch of coconut
some flax seeds (optional)
DELISH i tell ya! i have been loving a bowl full of fruits and VEGGIES for breakfast. just put it in a mini processor and pulse until small itty bitty chunks. you DON’T want to pulse so much that it turns into like applesauce.Just little bits. its so yummy, perfectly sweet and crunchy. Michael anne ate an entire bowl!!!! i have some ezekiel cereal and i sprinkle a little of that on top to add some crunch. I just bought some Chia seeds that Katie told me about that are power packed with omega 3′s and fiber. Greatness!
