with the hubs out of town on business, i have been rallying in the troops to help me manage the girls. last night our bestie came over to play dress up and swim. they stopped for a minute to watch the cows, but spent the most of their time running away from michael anne. she was “bothering” them.
with a face like that? how can she be bothering you? here is manners completely stressed that her dairy queen blizzard is finished. after my cookie monster was in bed, the much “older” girls took a late night dip.
they played and were screaming with delight at swimming with a frog in the pool
frogs…..they creep me out! what a fun night with helpful friends.
we are listening to this and lovin it! i mean really lovin it!
my little tribal child! she looks like a wild woman here about to kick some booty!
we had a great fathers day weekend. watched golf,swam a lot, and just enjoyed being home {because that’s the best}
i spend most of my swimming days trying to convince lucy that the pool sweep cleaning thing {his name is the gobbler at our house} is not going to eat or hurt her in any way. HE JUST CLEANS! we kiss it, pat it, talk to it, try to befriend it…..{are you getting a visual of me and the pool sweep} not matter what, she is convinced, that IT WILL ATTACK HER!
i saw this and think it is perfectly perfectly perfectly well done. perfectly! watch and remember.
i was looking through some old photos this morning, and came across this and it made me laugh. her face kind of describes how i have felt all week. the kids {sans lucy} are still sick. waking up with matted eyes. poor tess was refusing to drink and almost had to take her to ER for fluids. she looks terrible and it breaks my heart. we are going on day 12 of sick family and i am ready for everyone to be well……….
~ a song you must get! lovin it!
that is all – one song – it seems to be making me happy as i am driving from doctor to pharmacy to doctor to pharmacy
have a great weekend
she is a mess in more ways than one……she seeks mud out and finds it! she would rather play in the mud than chase bubbles or run through a sprinkler. she is fascinated by it….which reminds me that i need to make a mud kitchen for the littles this summer. lucy could use a little mud – she does not like anything sticky, muddy or unclean:)
one of my great friends alec worked on producing this movie - i can’t quit watching the trailer and i can’t wait to see all that alec will succeed in doing. this is right where you belong my friend! renee, if you are reading, i think you will love this movie:)
looking to perfecting some bread making – honestly it intimidates me - this book says it is easy???
cd exchangers should have received cd’s. if you did not get one let me know and i hope you have enjoyed
my sister was in town for one day and brought lucy this we had so much fun with it and it is a great science/art project for your littles. i can always count on my sister for fun craft things:)
i am currently listening to this and la-oving it! you should hear me signing in the car {i think i sound alright} but when i look back in the rearview, the girls have blank stares at me {this woman who calls herself mommy….is crazy}
i loved this home tour here. i just want to curl up in their kitchen…cook a little, sit down with a cup of tea….cook a little more. is it not so charming?
i loved their whole house, but found myself day dreaming about this little kitchen
if you are a DIY kind of gal, then check out these 3 ideas! BRILLANT
going to make this recipe this week {hopefully:)}pretzel chicken with honey mustard dipping sauce – um yes please!
lucy found a cassette tape under our cabinet and asked, “mommy, what’s this?” i said, “its a tape” she gave me a very funny look {mom are you stupid kind of look} and said “that’s not tape”. the only “tape” she knows is scotch tape. at that moment i felt aged and can only imagine the things that will seem so ancient to our kids.
it had me thinking of when i was younger, i would sit in my room and make mixed tapes from the radio. they were totally random and sometimes only had half of a song if that was all i could catch
in college my roomie and i would download tons of music from napster {remember that?} and make mixed cd’s. all my besties and i would make cd’s for eachother
when i started dating ryan he sent me a cd mix
and just recently one of my besties sent me a mix in the mail that was just what i needed:)
i love music and cd mix’s
therefore – does anyone want to be a part of a cd exchange? here is how it will go {and anyone, anywhere can participate – including you readers in australia and africa}
1. email me {last day is may 17th} if you are interested – include your name and address
2. i will email you {by may 18th} someones address in return that you will mail your cd to
you have until may 17th to let me know and then cd’s must be mailed by may 27th
you will be mailing one cd and receiving one cd – it may be new music you love, or maybe some you don’t love so much. the point is, it’s fun to hear new things, to change up the old rotation a bit and get a little surprise in the mail.
i will email you by the 18th with the info of who you need to mail your cd to
also – i am so excited – one of my favorite things, is “oprahs favorite things” since her show is ending i do not have that to look forward to:( i love hearing what my besties love so hopefully once a week or every other week i am going to have a guest post with “favorite things” be looking for it because they will have tons of great links:)
as i was feeding tess, ryan had the girls out back playing. i looked up to see Lucy tromping around the yard with these oh so safe garden shearers. of course i run calmly walk out back and take them away. i tell ryan that she cannot play with those…he replied,”well, she was being really careful” – ya…no….not going to happen. i replaced the killer blade with kid friendly rounded scissors so she could continue to cut blades of grass.
as i go back in to continue feeding (remembering the days when i just had one baby and feeding was easy and calm:) lucy knocks on the back door to show me her haircut.(cringe) all you can do is laugh. she said she cut her hair because she wanted to see it grow – now we are sporting a funky patch in the front.
do you see the tent in the background? Ryan assembled the tent, then sprayed it down inside and out with water. I went out and asked:
KK: “Ry, what are you doing with that tent?”
Ryan: “oh….just…getting it ready”
KK: (confused) “for what?”
Ryan: “camping”
KK: are you going camping (completely unaware of any planned trip?)
Ryan: “no, just getting it ready in case we do”
honey…..i don’t think camping is anywhere in our near future, but i am so glad we have a tent up and ready to go in case we do. it is now fully assembled in our garage. i guess he was needing something manly to do???
soccer was played
lucy did some ballet ( does she not look graceful
and michael anne romped around – she is one busy busy girl.
ryan introduced me to this song and we both love it – we used to wait by arcade fire
happy monday!
